Donna Kelce Compares Her Chiefs Game-Day Leather Pants to a Mullet: ‘There’s a Party in the Back’ (Exclusive)

Donna Kelce shares the secret behind her edgy game day look.

On Friday, Nov. 29, the NFL supermom, 72, stepped out to watch her son Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders. She was seen arriving at Arrowhead Stadium – with Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift by her side – wearing a pair of black leather pants and a black jacket emblazoned with the Chiefs logo.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the game, Donna called her edgy pants “really fun” and revealed their special, functional feature. “They’re modern in the front, but the back is fun because they’re just plain fabric,” she shared. “Leather pants are really hot. So the back of your leather pants is made of fabric so you can air things out.”

Donna even said she liked the leather pants “more than the regular ones.”

“It’s very comfortable to sit in. You don’t get hot, you don’t get sick, you know – it’s just nice,” she explained.

Donna also told PEOPLE about her acting debut in the Hallmark Channel holiday movie Christmas on call November 22, followed by Holiday Touchdown: The Chiefs’ Love Storywhich premiered on Saturday night, November 30. She described the experience as “so fantastic” and said it “was a joy to learn” from all the network’s veteran stars.

The first film is set in Philadelphia, where her son Jason Kelce played for the Eagles before retiring earlier this year, and the second takes place in Kansas City, Travis’ NFL home. “It’s so much fun for them to do a movie in Kansas City for the first time and be in the stadium that I’ve been here for the last 11 years,” Donna said of her special relationship with A festive touchshooting location.

Her TV movie debut was a big hit with her family, especially her three grandchildren, Jason’s daughters Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 21 months. “They loved it,” Donna said Christmas on call. “My little grandchildren were just saying, ‘Let it go again, let it go. We want to see DeeDee.’ So that was fun.”

As for whether fans can expect to see her tackle more acting projects in the future, Donna teased, “Who knows? You never know things like that.”

“But it was fun for me right now. It was enough,” she continued. “I had a really good time with everyone at Hallmark. They treated me so well and I’m really excited to be able to do this. It was just a dream come true.”

While Donna is making a name for herself in the acting world, she has spent years following the fame of her sons as professional athletes. Last month, she said Glamour that it’s challenging to go anywhere in public as a family, especially since Travis, 35, started dating Swift, 34, last year. “If we want to do something, you have to rent a restaurant or a movie theater or whatever,” she said. “Every now and then I sneak out and we go to places that no one knows where they are.”

Donna previously told PEOPLE that while being in the spotlight means “everyone knows everything about our family,” she has embraced the many exciting opportunities that have come her way. “I’m having the best time now, more than ever,” she said in September of her own rising fame.
