A HORSE rider described how she was shot and left for dead by her trainer during a heated argument on social media.
On his 53-acre horse farm in Long Valley, New Jersey, former Olympic equestrian Michael Barisone is accused of shooting Lauren Kanarek, one of his trainees. In 2018, Kanarek began working with Barisone.
He would later pay the Barisone horse farm $5,000 per month to board his horses, train them, and provide him with a place to live with Rob Goodwin.
In addition to becoming an excellent coach, Barisone represented Team USA at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. In the summer of 2019, the relationship between Kanarek and Barisone began to unravel due to discussions about their deal.
