Schools closed in Pune, Maharashtra
Schools in Pune of Maharashtra closed: Schools in Pune district of Maharashtra had to be closed due to heavy rain hitting many hilly areas of some taluk. According to recent updates, the local government has informed the schools in these areas to close for two days from Thursday, today, July 21, 2023. According to some media reports, a total of 355 schools in the districts, including Ambegaon, Khed, Junnar, Bhor, Purandar, Mulshi and Maval Talukas will not open today and will also be closed on Friday.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city has received nearly 100 mm of rain in the past 24 hours. The meeting department also issued an orange warning in the area on Thursday. While a red alert has been issued for Thane until 20 July 2023, Palghar and Raigad districts are on red alert for Thursday and Friday.
Schools in Mumbai, Konkan Division closed
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has declared a holiday today, 20 July 2023, for all schools in Mumbai and Konkan due to heavy rains in the area. The Minister announced that the counties in the state and local governments have been advised to make a decision about school leave depending on the current situation.
According to a recent update, BMC has informed primary, middle and high schools up to grade 12 in Mumbai to be on holiday today, 20 July 2023. In addition, the additional SSC and HSC exams for that date have also been postponed to next month.
Schools closed in Telangana
Schools in Telangana also remain closed today, July 20, 2023 due to heavy rains in the state. Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Reddy has ordered that due to the heavy rain situation in the state and following the Prime Minister’s directive, the relevant state agencies have decided to declare a holiday for two days – today, the day July 20, 2023 and tomorrow, ie Friday, July 21, 2023. 2023 for all educational institutions in the country.
