Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse, who rose to fame after appearing on Dances With Wolves, was detained on January 31. He has been accused of sexually abusing indigenous girls for more than two decades. Nathan was arrested at his home in North Las Vegas, and his home was searched. He became known as a “sorcerer”, organizing healing rituals and spiritual gatherings that he took advantage of by abusing women. An investigation was launched last October and the Associated Press received a search warrant accusing Nathan of founding a cult called The Circle. Smiles a Lot is a Lakota Sioux man living in Colorado in the late 1800s. He was involved in a conspiracy in which two Indians tried to steal a horse from United States Army officer John Dunbar. Lakota (Kevin Costner) befriends Dunbar, who saves him from a stampede while hunting bison. Additionally, he and his companions resisted Pawnee’s invasion of a Sioux village and shot an arrow at Sakrut, a Pawnee warrior. While liberating Dunbar from the US Army, Smiles a Lot transported the horses used by Wind in the Hair (Rodney A. Grant) and his group of warriors.
Sergeant Lawrence Bauer punched Smiles Lot in the face, prompting him to hit his chest with a tomahawk. Dunbar left the tribe in 1864 so the army couldn’t find Lakota, but Smiles a Lot sent him the notebook he found after Dunbar was freed. Dances with Wolves, directed by Kevin Costner and released on November 9, 1990, was a box office success, grossing over $400 million. He received several Oscar nominations in 1991.
