She has mainly worked with Bollywood stars and has styled some of the biggest names in the industry in many Hindi films. However, she isn’t limited to just movies. Ms. Goel has also styled cricketers and other Indian celebrities.

The freshly graduated fashion designer initially trained under famous Bollywood fashion designer Manish Malhotra before venturing into the Bollywood fashion industry. When asked in an interview about her experience working under the famous designer, Goel said;
Everything I have learned is from Manish; he has played an important role in my life. Probably the biggest. There is a solution to every problem and his hard work and dedication are inspiring. “

In November 2003, Ms. Goel launched her eponymous fashion brand “Surily G” and showcased her first collection at India’s leading fashion store “Ensemble” where she has been retailing since then. Speaking about her first days in the fashion industry, Surily said in an interview:
Clothes are not only accessories that enhance a person’s personality, but also reflect one’s personality. I make sure that every garment I design has only one focus. Three adjectives define my design philosophy: “Clear,” “Wearable,” and most importantly, “Versatility.” “
The designer finally came into the spotlight in 2005 when Suily’s collection for Indian actress Preity Zinta in the film Salaam Namaste received huge acclaim.

Since then, she has been closely associated with the Bollywood industry and has created many stars for different films. Talking about her experience of working in the Bollywood fashion industry, Surily said in an interview,
I love designing for movies, commercials, and TV shows. When you design a collection, it’s a lonely process. Film is a collective effort. You’re realizing the director’s vision and you have a character to work with. “

In 2006, Surily transcended the film industry and showcased her collection “Roses Forever” at her first fashion show at Lakme Fashion Week. Her collections for her label Surily G have been designed by Bollywood stars like Malaika Arora, Salman Khan and Neelam Kothari Soni, who have also walked for the designer.

In the following years, Surily showcased her collections at various fashion shows including Wills India Fashion Week (WIFW) since 2007, HDIL India Couture Week 2009, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2010, Pune Fashion Week 2010 and 2012 and Chivas Studio 2010. She sells her goods in luxury fashion stores like ‘Fiza’ in Mumbai, ‘Kimaya’ in Mumbai and Delhi and ‘Aza’ in Mumbai, Delhi and Ludhiana. Her brand “Surily G” also received a special presentation at “Villa Moda” in Kuwait and her WIFW collection was selected and presented in a fashion store in Milan.

In 2014, the Indian designer took the opportunity to showcase her special capsule collection at Caravan, Harvey Nichols in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Surily’s designs have also appeared on the covers of top Indian magazines.

Accused of plagiarizing a piece of clothing
In 2006, Surily was accused of designing a dress for her Surily G brand that was very similar to a dress designed by American designer Megan Odabash. Bollywood actress Preity Zinta also wore this dress for Surily at Lakme Fashion Week 2006. Responding to accusations that she cheated on the costume design, Ms Goel said in an interview that she designed the dress in October, around the same time as Odabash, meaning replicating it would be impossible. She also denied knowing any American designers by that name.
