Tajinder Singh Bagha

Tajinder Singh Bagga is an Indian politician and social media influencer with links to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was arrested for supporting the 2011 Kashmir plebiscite. Prashant Bhushan is famous for his attacks. He became the spokesperson of the Delhi BJP in 2017. Following in the footsteps of his father, Bagha joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shaka at a very young age. His father revealed in an interview that Baga had a political awakening in RSS Shakha, which led to Baga dropping out of school after class 10 and becoming actively involved in politics. Instead, Baga said he dropped out of school to help his father in his clothing business. However, he later pursued Bachelor’s Preparatory Program (BPP) at Indira Gandhi National Open University. At the age of 16, Bagha joined the Bharatiya Jana Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, and later became its secretary. In 2017, Bagha was appointed as the spokesperson of the Delhi BJP. In the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, Bagha contested from Hari Nagar Assembly seat on the ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but lost in the polls. In 2022, he launched a food franchise “Kulhad Biryani” in New Delhi and called it “India’s first Jhatka Biryani brand”. The restaurant specializes in Jhatka meat. Operation Prashant Bhushan

In 2011, Bagga and a group of friends broke into the office of Supreme Court lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan and attacked him for supporting the Kashmir referendum. Apparently, Bagha operates in a vigilante group called Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena (BSKS), which includes Vishnu Gupta and Inder Verma. Baga tweeted hours before the attack:

The Uttarakhand Congress lodged a complaint against Bagha with the Election Commission for treating former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat and other Congress leaders as Muslim leaders. Defamation case against Subramanian Swamy

In December 2021, Baga filed a defamation suit against Congressman Subramanian Swamy, alleging that Swamy claimed in a tweet on September 28, 2021 that before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party Previously, Baga was jailed several times for petty crimes in the Mandir Marg police station area. Baga refuted the accusations, saying they appeared on the internet with the aim of damaging and damaging his reputation. Thereafter, Baga issued a legal notice to Swamy on October 1, 2021, warning that if he failed to apologize to Baga within seven days, he would initiate legal action against him. The Delhi High Court stayed the defamation case on April 4, 2022.

Inflammatory speech cases

A case was filed against Bagga in Mohali on April 1, 2022, based on a complaint by AAP Punjab spokesperson and Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in-charge Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia. Ahluwalia alleged that Bagga’s remarks in the media and his tweets constituted provocative statements, incited enmity and threatened party president and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Thereafter, he was booked under sections 153-A and 506 of IPC. The Punjab Police claimed that despite receiving five notices, he did not participate in the investigation. On May 6, 2022, Bagga was arrested by the Punjab police from his Janakpuri residence in Delhi. However, a Punjab police team was stopped by local police in Haryana, who then handed Bagha over to Delhi police. Baga was later released after appearing before a magistrate. After his release, Bagha filed a case in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against him. The Supreme Court postponed his arrest to May 10, 2022. In addition, Baga’s lawyer Chetan Mittal was also granted protection from enforcement action.

In 2019, clashes broke out between Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party workers during Amit Shah’s roadshow in Kolkata, following which several BJP workers, including Bagga, were detained by the West Bengal police. After his release, Baga revealed on Twitter that he was arrested in his hotel room around 2am.
