Travis Kelce Spotted on the Set of Ryan Murphy’s Upcoming Series Grotesquerie

Travis Kelce is expanding his resume!

The 2024 Super Bowl winner, 34, will be doing more than just playing on the field this fall. Kelce will also star in Ryan Murphy’s horror drama, Grotesquenesson FX.

PEOPLE first confirmed the news in May.

On Tuesday, July 9, Larry McGee, director of the second unit, shared a photo on social media with Kelce.

In the picture on Instagram, the two smiled as they stood next to each other.

Several houses and cars could be seen in the background, with a large palm tree and what looked like a Sprinter van in the distance. A walkie talkie was mounted on McGee’s side. No further details are given on the photo.

“Since @killatrav came to play with us on set for a while (the acting skills are there). In return, I told him that I will watch football this season 🏈. Let’s go Kansas City Chiefs 🏟️,” McGee captioned the image.

Allison Carr, who appears to be a member of the crew, also posted footage of the NFL player on set, smiling with the crew in group shots.

“I guess I have to root for the Chiefs now 😌,” she wrote alongside the photos.

This wasn’t the first time the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was seen on set since the news broke.

On May 7, Niecy Nash-Betts also posted a video from the set on Instagram.

Nash-Betts, 54, has worked with Murphy, 58, in the past, starring in Scream queens and Dahmer – the monster: the story of Jeffrey Dahmer.

“Guys, guess who I’m working with Grotesqueness?” the actress said in an Instagram video. After waiting a bit, she panned the camera to reveal the NFL star standing next to her.

“Jumping into new territory with Niecy!” Kelce said with a smile.

“We’re on the spot!” – she exclaimed.

“This is what happens when WINNERS connect‼️ @killatrav Welcome Grostequerie!” Nash-Betts captioned the clip.

Kelce was constantly increasing his experience in front of the cameras.

He previously appeared as himself on Showtime Moon base 8 in 2020. He was the host Saturday night live in March 2023 and reappeared ua SNL sketch about him and girlfriend Taylor Swift in October 2023. He has been chosen to host the upcoming Prime game show Are you smarter than a celebrity?. However, Grotesqueness will be his first scripted series.

In an interview on June 6 at Good morning Americathe professional athlete opened up about the acting challenge that awaits him.

“I’ve been in a few plays before, although I’ve only played myself in those plays,” he said.

Kelce admitted that with Grotesquenessit’s “definitely portraying a character differently and trying to find emotion in everything and understanding the script and the scene.”

“It’s a challenge. I feel like an amateur right now, but I can be coached,” he added. “That’s one thing I know from playing sports – I’m a coachable guy.”

He also shared his excitement about the new experience in an episode of his podcast, New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

“It was a lot of fun. Ryan Murphy did [an] amazing writer, director, producer, all of the above, man. He just — there’s nothing he can’t do and everyone was very helpful in making me feel comfortable,” Kelce said.
