The BBC’s latest true crime syndication comes in the form of the Sixth Commandment and all 4 episodes were successful with TV audiences. The film, which stars Timothy Spall and Anne Reid, has received critical acclaim for its handling of a very sensitive, insightful story as well as the cast’s excellent performance.
But there’s an element that’s caught the attention of fans, with some on social media saying the TV series could be more concise as the story was explained in the previous documentary.

One fan wrote some praise for the series on Twitter, saying: “I had to watch this movie for two nights with my mind blown. These days the word ‘shocking’ is overused, but in this case, it fits. So is the term ‘mediocre of evil’.”
However, the comment led to a suggestion from another viewer, who mused: “I agree, but I think it’s a bit wordy. Or maybe I just watched a documentary about it and so did it. know the result is #The SixthCommandment.”

A third viewer echoed that, writing on Twitter: “Maybe they could do four out of three, I didn’t know there was a documentary about that case.”
A fourth person shared a similar view, saying that while the Sixth Commandment was “great”, they would not continue watching because they were familiar with the story and because it was uncomfortable to watch. They said, “It’s a terrible story, I won’t watch the last two episodes. I know what will happen. #TheSixthCommandment.”
