Walt Nauta Wikipedia, wiki, indictment, family, nationality, photo, lawyer: A former adviser to President Donald Trump has been indicted in connection with special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the improper handling of classified materials from the Trump White House.

The second indictment in the special counsel’s investigation is against Walt Nauta. The indictment, which was unsealed Friday, contains 37 counts against Trump, some of which relate to allegations of willful withholding of national defense information.

Nauta is charged with a total of six counts, several of which relate to alleged conduct and include obstruction and concealment.
The indictment alleges that Nauta allegedly lied to investigators during an interview with the FBI in May 2022. Before Trump delivered the 15 boxes to the National Archives in 2022, he allegedly falsely claimed that he did not know the boxes were being transported to his home for inspection.
However, the indictment states that Nauta helped move the boxes from the warehouse to Trump’s home.
Nauta falsely responded: “I wish, I wish I could tell you where the boxes were stored before they were at the Trump residence and if they were in a secure location or locked up.” I’m not sure. The prosecution says: “I don’t know, honestly, I really don’t know.

According to the indictment, between November 2021 and January 2022, Nauta and another Trump employee drove boxes from the Mar-a-Lago warehouse to the former president’s mansion at his behest.
“Nauta actually knew that the boxes in Pine Hall came from the Warehouse, because Nauta himself, with the help of Employee Trump 2, moved the boxes from the Warehouse to Pine Hall; and Nauta observed the boxes and moved them to different locations in the Mar-a-Lago Club,” the indictment states.
Earlier Friday, a representative for Nauta declined to comment. This week, Nauta met with Trump at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
On his social media pages Friday, Trump responded to Nauta’s accusation, saying, “They are trying to destroy his life and the lives of many others, in the hope that he will say bad things about ‘Trump.'” He is a great patriot, powerful and brave. The DOJ and the FBI are corrupt.
Investigators have focused on Nauta’s role in transporting boxes of classified information to Trump’s Florida club. Before the FBI executed a search warrant at the Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach last August, Nauta moved the boxes with the help of maintenance workers.

According to court documents from the previous year, the FBI discovered more than 100 classified documents during the search. This came weeks after Trump’s lawyer acknowledged that the Trump campaign had complied with a May subpoena seeking the production of all documents marked classified.
According to a recent CNN report, investigators were able to obtain security footage showing Nauta and an employee carrying boxes containing classified information about the resort. Nauta spoke to investigators several times during the investigation, initially stating that he did not handle boxes or classified information at Mar-a-Lago.
CNN previously reported that after surveillance footage became available, Nauta reviewed his testimony, and that the assistant finally stopped speaking to investigators last fall after switching attorneys.
