One person was killed and two others were injured after a car plunged off a cliff onto a beach in Central California.
The California Highway Patrol reported the incident happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday between Highway 1 and Pescadero Creek Road, according to CBS News.
The vehicle crossed the freeway into a parking lot above Pescadero State Beach before going over the edge of the parking lot and crashing onto the beach, said Mark Schaukowitch — an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

The car came off its wheels, and because of the tide, it was partially submerged in the water on the beach, reports the newspaper.
