Pokémon Fans everywhere are counting down the minutes until the release Legendary Pokémon: Arceus next weekend. Unfortunately for those trying to stay spoiler-free, a gallery of images revealing some of the game’s party characters and character designs has leaked onto the internet.
Honestly, the reaction to these spoiled Pokémon has not been good. When the images were shared on Reddit, the Redditor’s reaction was hilarious. Overall, though, fans are mostly just disappointed that some of their favorite Pokémon have gotten so dirty.
Snesler
At first, fans were confused when they saw a familiar-looking Sneasel next to a Pokémon that looked nothing like its usual evolution, Weavile. Instead of seeing the infamous dark glass cannon and ice-type Pokémon, fans were staring at what looked like a teenager gazing into space and contemplating death.
The reaction to this new Pokémon, Sneasler, has been huge. Redditor FacedCrown didn’t like it, writing, “To me, it doesn’t look like Pokémon. Kind of cursed.” TurrPhennirPhan replied, “Looks like an emoji,” to which Different Area-873 retorted, “To me, it looks like a Sonic OC.” Overall, fans feel that Sneasler doesn’t look like an actual Pokémon.

The spoiled Pokémon design that leaves fans both heartbroken and disappointed is Electrode. arc Voltorb and Electrode look cute, although now the wood/acorn made of them can never conduct electricity, so it’s pretty confusing. For those who used to think that this Electric Pokémon was of a different kind, Arceus Fulfill this wish by crafting Voltorb and Electrodes/Electricity – this would account for Acorns.
Reddit user hoenndex was upset when he wrote: “I like it best. Too bad Electrode has lost its smile.” Indeed, the new look is a sadder version of what cold Electrode fans know and love. This is especially odd, as fans speculate that the hole in the top of this new Electrode and Voltorb is to release some of their energy – so one would assume they’ll be happier.
Goodra
A common reaction from fans to many of the leaked images is that they think the Pokémon looks particularly sad. For some reason, Pokémon possess emotions ranging from anger to utter disappointment — besides any kind of joy.
Aside from the sad Sneasel and Electrode, Goodra, the ultimate evolution of Goomy, the lesser known and sometimes underrated Pokémon of the Kalos region, looks equally sad. Redditor noiverisfav64 commented, “Goodra seems to be facing an existential crisis.” Many Reddit users were upset that there were so many painful-looking Pokémon.

Fans are pretty upset about the leaked Typhlosion design, though one Redditor shared a link to tweet It is revealed that Pokémon looks better when moving in flames. However, its strange shape and deadly eyes make fans feel that Fire Evolution needs to be cuddled rather than fought.
Reddit user Jesse141001 joked, “Typhlosion keeps losing fans.” ZeroGemini5 responded to their comment, saying, “Really. I wish there was a general aesthetic about the undead and not a tall badger.” Fans seem divided on Typhlosion, seemingly affected or downright depressed. Either way, many aren’t thrilled with the choice being made for one of the world’s most powerful bombers. Pokemon.

Avalugg’s design isn’t as hated by Redditors as some other spoiled Pokémon, but fans aren’t hoping for the Pokémon’s usefulness when it comes to PvP battles in the game. While aesthetically, Redditors have conceded that the design isn’t as bad as the others, but this is the kind of Pokémon that let fans down.
A Redditor named GeneralSecura wrote: “Avalugg is my favorite Pokémon and its regional form isn’t as filthy as some of the others. However, the Ice/Rock knocking is a satire for a defensive Pokémon. ” Like Weavile said above, this turns Avalugg into a glass cannon Pokémon and the thread’s original poster, ArmsofMingHua, replied, “Yeah. There’s no hope in PvP either.”

Another leaked Pokémon is the new addition to the most powerful legendary Pokémon Unova trio, Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus. This new story is called Enamorus, and it’s not about the elements, but about love, with a pink and red design decorated with hearts.
People are not big fans of this new story. Sir_Grox wrote, “How did they make the new goblin uglier than his brethren?” Reddit user madona-boy thought the new design reminded them of Cartoon Network characters and commented, “THIS ONE from Powerpuff Girls.”

In some cases, new evolutionary variants are created for already existing forms. As for Rowlett, fans were caught off guard when they saw a new version of the final evolutionary form. Rowlet is said to evolve into Dartrix, an owl-like Pokémon that is brown, white, and green, just like Rowlet. Dartrix then evolves into Decidueye, a larger owl of the same color as the hood.
Not all Pokémon evolutions look like the Pokémon they evolved from, but in their minds, Decidueye’s original form confused fans. Ninjacat97 wrote, “Probably just because I’m used to A-Decidueye, but this seems like a big change from Rowlet and Dartrix.” The new Decidueye comes in brown, red, and yellow and looks like the Pokémon it’s supposed to be completely different.

Another fan complaint about these designs is that many of them just do too much and look unappealing and overwhelming. For example, Ursaluna looks like Ursaring’s original form, with too much added detail and all four legs.
On Reddit, MissSteak wrote, “I don’t like having too many of them. Qwilfish, the new characters, Decidueye and that bear all look too complicated and extravagant.” Another Redditor, madmaxxie36, agreed with them, saying, “It’s true that they’re so over-engineered that they don’t look like Pokémon at all. I don’t know what happened to Weavile, Arcanine, Ursaring, and Qwilfish evo. City. Honestly, it’s a mess.”
Palkia
