Amy has been posting on social media recently as she and Tammy prepare for the new season of TLC 1000 lbs. Sisters. She shared a promotional photo of the smiling pair on Instagram last week, writing: “1000lb. sisters against the world.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to compliment Amy and Tammy on how good they look and how far they’ve come in their weight loss journeys.

“They’re going to have to rename the show! You all look great!” one fan wrote while another person commented: “Wow. You girls look so beautiful and healthier. Congratulations on your journey🙏🏼❤️.”

Season 5 of the reality show premieres next month. In PEOPLE’s exclusive preview of upcoming episodes, Tammy is finally coming home after spending 14 months at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio.

Tammy’s homecoming begins on an upbeat note, with the proud declaration “I’ve lost 300 pounds. And I’m ready to conquer the world.”

Weight loss is also becoming a family affair as half-siblings Amanda and Misty share that they are seeking approval for weight-loss surgery, with Tammy having it in 2022 and Amy having it in 2020.

“Do we get a family discount?” Amy jokes to the camera.

Although Tammy’s return home is initially greeted with laughter and lightness, the clip also shows the sisters dealing with turmoil at home as Amy struggles with the household and her two young children, Gage Dean, 3, and Glenn Allen, 1, as her marriage to Michael Halterman continues to decline.

Amy tearfully tells her family about her problems, which later leads to an explosive confrontation that results in the police being called. “I didn’t know the world was going to come crashing down when I got home,” Tammy says in the confessional.

Season 5 premiere 1000 lbs. Sisters airs Tuesday, December 12 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
