Two thieves were in for a big surprise when they realized that the cell phone they stole belonged to Olympic track champion Mo Farah.
Farah, a four-time Olympic gold medalist in the 5,000m and 10,000m, was out jogging with his wife Tania Nell last week and left his phone by the side of the private road leading to the large Surrey estate. a couple of shares. As they left the house, Farah saw a white van approaching and two men took his phone, writes The Times.
The thieves then returned to the van – and Farah began chasing the vehicle “at full throttle”, a witness told the newspaper.
Farah easily made it to the van, and the thieves reportedly handed over Farah’s phone without further incident.

According to The Times, the theft is now under investigation.
Farah is the most decorated British athlete in history, with his double gold medals in the 5,000m and 10,000m at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He also won 6 gold and 2 silver medals at world championships during his racing career.
Farah and Nell, who married in 2010, have three children – twin daughters Aisha and Amani and a son named Hussein. Farah is also the stepfather of Nell’s daughter Rihanna.
In a 2022 documentary, Farah revealed that his real name is Hussein Abdi Kahin and that he was taken from his family in his native Somaliland at the age of 9 and smuggled to England.

“From that moment, entering, [I had] another name, another identity,” he said. “I know I took someone else’s place.”
