50 Cent Accuses Liquor Brand of Embezzlement: ‘I’m Not the One You Want to Play with’

50 Cent sent a warning to the parent company of his liquor brand.

After alleging that Beam Suntory — which distributes his alcohol brand Sire Spirits — was involved in an embezzlement scheme that nearly cost him millions of dollars, the 48-year-old actor/rapper shared an Instagram post Monday claiming the company “pay what they are.”

With Instagram reel a FOX 5 NY report of the allegations, 50 Cent wrote in the caption, “@beamsuntory will pay for what they trusted me with. These big companies think they can get away with nothing. It cost me millions in legal fees. They’re going to find out I’m not who they’re dealing with you want to play. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

He then added a “clearer version” of the clip after it was posted.

“This is a clearer version of the News, @beamsuntory @jimbeamofficial. I’m not the guy you want to start. In the nicest way I’ll need my money by Monday. 🤨” 50 Cent captioned the Instagram Reel.

The Power star also shared a letter Beam Suntory sent to his alleged co-conspirators on Instagram on Monday.

“This is a letter sent by @beamsuntory without my knowledge to people involved in a scheme that cost me millions. Do I really need to hold a press conference to explain to everyone exactly what happened… This will be a great unscripted project. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi,” he captioned the post.

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, the “In Da Club” musician founder originally filed the lawsuit in February 2023 in New York State Supreme Court, alleging that Beam Suntory was complicit in the embezzlement scheme.

50 Cent claims that Sire Spirits overpaid for the delivered liquor and took approximately $6 million in bribes.

“Because these illegal commissions were factored into the price of the product, Sire Spirits overpaid taxes, overpaid duties and fees, overpaid insurance, which are marked up according to the value of the product,” Sire Spirits attorney Craig Weiner said. FOX 5 NYrepeating the allegations made in the complaint.

He added: “Beam Suntory’s role here is extremely worrying. The chief commercial officer of Beam Suntory, a gentleman named Julious Grant, acting as an employee, as an officer of the company, acting under the actual and parent authority of Beam Suntory facilitated the entire fraud as we allege in our complaint .”

Beam Suntory “vehemently” denied “all allegations of wrongdoing” in an emailed statement on Tuesday.

“Beam Suntory vehemently denies all allegations of misconduct. It had no involvement in or knowledge of the fraudulent activity alleged in the complaint, and any assertion to the contrary has no basis in fact. It is undisputed that we have honored all prior commitments to Mr. Jackson and Sire Spirits, and it is very unfortunate that the parties involved continue to misrepresent the facts and misdirect blame in an attempt to recover compensation and damages,” it said.

50 Cent avoids criminal charges in mic-throwing case: report

Sire Spirits attorney Weiner responded in a statement to PEOPLE, writing, “Sire Spirits claims and expects to prove at trial that the affirmative actions taken by multiple Beam Suntory executives, including but not limited to the former Chief Commercial Officer, its chief Chief Strategy Officer and others working with them cost Sire millions of dollars and caused irreparable damage to Mr. Jackson’s business.”

Mitchell Green, a former employee of Sire Spirits, previously pleaded guilty to fraud for his role in the alleged kickback scheme. He stole 2 million dollars from a brand of alcoholic beverages, per FOX 5 NY.According to the media, the Supreme Court case should go before a jury in early 2025.
