There are so many shows and streaming platforms out there that it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start—and like us, you can find yourself going back to watching an old favorite movie countless times (Schitt’s Creek times) 12th, anyone?!). However, there have been some great shows in 2023 – with more epic shows coming soon. Check out the best series to add to your must-see list…
Poker Face – NOW/Sky
Natasha Lyonne is a tramp who always knows when someone is lying – which means she’s banned from every casino in the US and, for reasons revealed, she’s on the run. Unfortunately, every town she stops at seems to have a murder that only she can solve. This week’s series – created by Knives Out creator Rian Johnson – is a smart and refreshing film not to be missed.

Colin from Account – BBC
After a cheeky moment causes two strangers to accidentally injure a dog, Ashley and Gordon must team up to help the dog up (or the wheel, in this case), and of course fall in love. Really smart and very, very funny, this series is for anyone who loves shows like Gavin and Stacey or Catastrophe.

Big Door Award – Apple TV+
Chris O’Dowd plays a guy confused in front of his friends and family as they all begin to change their lives thanks to a game that tells them to their fullest potential. Funny and smart about how to live your life, Chris excels as our hero in this gripping series.

Crowded Room – Apple TV+
Coming to the streaming platform, Tom Holland plays a troubled young man who is interrogated when his girlfriend Ariana tries to shoot a New York man. As we learn more about Danny’s life, we finally uncover some shocking twists on exactly what happened. To say more would be to throw away the gameplay of this psychological thriller…

The gallows – BBC Two
Directed by the genius behind the This Is England series, this three-part historical series follows a group of Yorkshire workers who nearly crippled the minting economy by turning themselves into a criminal enterprise. The true story is both fun and funny, and we loved it.

Silo – Apple TV+
Rebecca Ferguson plays Juliette, a mechanic living in a mysterious silo, an underworld filled with humanity’s last community. But why are they there, who put them there and why are they not allowed out? This is a claustrophobic murder mystery that will keep you guessing.
