1. Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a mysterious place in the North Atlantic where planes and ships have secretly disappeared. It started in the middle of the 20th century.
Although there are various theories about this place, they are not considered to be correct. Many planes and ships safely travel through this area every day. There is no such evidence to support the idea that something unusual is happening there.
2. Crooked forest
Crooked Forest, also known as Krzywy Las, is a famous place in Poland. It is very close to a village called Nowe Czarnowo, near the town of Gryfino. There are 400 pine trees in that forest, which were planted around 1930.
What is unique about them is that they all bend sharply towards the north side near the land, then grow and straighten out after they recede a bit to the side. People thought that it was created by someone in this way, but no one knows the truth behind it.
Some people think that the trees are bent on purpose to make a curved tree. But we still don’t know the reason why they are like that. It’s still a mystery.
3. Blood falls
Blood Falls is an unusual place in Antarctica where water destroyed by iron oxide flows from the Taylor Glacier onto the ice of western Lake Bonney. The water is very salty and contains a large amount of iron.
It sometimes oozes from cracks in the ice. The salt water comes from a pool under the glacier, unknown under the ice sheet. It was discovered in 1911 by geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor. At first, people believed that red algae were the cause of the red color of the water.
After research, it was determined that the color is due to the presence of iron oxide in the water. So the water appears to be red.
4. Area 51
Area 51 is a top-secret site owned by the United States Air Force (USAF) in Nevada, USA. It is officially known as Homey Airport or Groom Lake.
The Air Force isn’t disclosing what’s going on there, but they say it’s for training. Most people believe it is where they test new planes and weapons. The Air Force and CIA took control of the site in 1955 to check the Lockheed U-2 aircraft.
Because it is so reserved, Area 51 is famous for conspiracy theories and UFO stories. It’s not officially declared a secret, but everything is strictly confidential. Area 51 is about 83 miles from Las Vegas.
5. Nazca lines
The Nazca Lines are large drawings in the ground found in the Nazca Desert located in Peru. Between 500 BC and 500 AD, people made the Nazca lines by scratching rocks and earth to show the different colors of the soil beneath.
There are two main groups of lines made at different times. Some lines go straight, while others look like animals and plants. Together they stretch for more than 1300 kilometers and occupy about 50 square kilometers.
They are made to represent religious reasons. The lines are best seen from above, and some are hundreds of meters long. They lasted a long time due to the dry weather, but they are starting to wear out.
