Eight high school students were shot more than 30 times near a bus station in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The shooting occurred when three masked men got out of a dark blue Hyundai Sonata and opened fire on teenagers near a SEPTA bus stop, the Philadelphia Police Department said. xformerly Twitter.
The post included surveillance from the area that included a view of the men walking away from the area after the shooting. Authorities say the alleged attackers are still at large.
“We now know because the car was not driving itself that there was a fourth person in the car. I don’t have much of a description of that person,” Philadelphia Police Deputy Commissioner of Investigations Frank Vanore said during a press conference Thursday.

According to Vanore, the car was found Wednesday night around 10:31 p.m. by Highway Patrol officers and officers discovered it had previously been reported stolen.
A police official said all the victims, including a 15-year-old girl and seven teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17, were rushed to local hospitals after Wednesday’s incident.
Of the two listed in critical condition, one was a 17-year-old boy who was shot nine times.
Vanore said the department checked on him Thursday morning and he remains in critical condition.

“I’m told the doctors are optimistic. We’ve got to get through today but they’re hoping to get him better at some point, so he’s in the hospital right now and he needs people to keep him in their prayers to keep going,” he said. Officers are working on evidence left at the scene including 3 different guns.
“I don’t really know what the motive is here,” he said. “Yesterday’s incident, those individuals headed straight for that crowd. It seems the person who was most critical was the focal point, but I’m not sure about that.”
He noted that two buses near the area were also hit by gunfire, but no one inside was injured.
