’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Yara Zaya Tears Up Over Body Insecurities, Pressure from Her Parents: ‘It’s Just Hard’

Fiancé of 90 daysYara Zaya gets candid about the insecurities she’s had with her body for most of her life.

In the trailer for Monday’s episode 90 day: last refuge – Published Party tonight — Zaya, who is from Ukraine, was emotional when she shared how her upbringing is the reason for her “level of insecurity” when it comes to her body.

“For me, it’s cultural,” explained the 28-year-old. “My parents, for example, always, always compare me to be someone else. You need to be perfect. Growing up, my mom, for example, taught me that my nose isn’t that good. Or they tell me I’m chubby or something.”

“It’s just hard,” she continued, fighting back tears. “But then I grew up and I still sometimes think that if I gain two extra pounds then I’m chunky, like, that’s something I can’t give up.”

Zaya then explained that her husband, Jovi Dufren, “is trying to be understanding, but he can’t.”

“He’s really sure of himself,” she added.

Zay’s co-star Molly Hopkins then urged her to give herself grace when it comes to body image and body positivity.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Hopkins said. “And I know it’s hard. I know how it feels after you have a baby. But I need you to understand something. You’re absolutely stunning. You look amazing. I think you’re so beautiful.”

“Thank you very much,” Zaya replied.

In 2021, during Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé, Zaya spoke about her body image and feeling comfortable with turning to plastic surgery to learn to love herself.

“I don’t see anything wrong with that. If someone doesn’t like something about themselves, let them change it. Yes, you should love yourself the way you are. But if you can’t accept something, it’s okay to change it,” she said at the time. “We live in 2021 and if you want to do something, do it.”

“I had a problem, like, my nose is a potato. Let me do something about it,” she continued. “Four years ago I had lip augmentation, too. And again, as I say, there’s nothing wrong with surgery if you don’t like something and accept it. I didn’t accept it. myself when I looked in the mirror and had to fix the situation.”
