In an exclusive PEOPLE take a peek at 90 day: last refugeJovi reflects on how their sex life has changed since welcoming their two-year-old Mylah during a group exercise.

“I would like to have more sex because when we first met, we had a lot of sex and it kind of disappeared, we have a little child,” he admits.

Yara denies that their problems – including her taking birth control in secret to prevent a second pregnancy – stem from having a young child, saying: “It’s not because of the baby.”

He went on to explain that Yara wanted him to do “something romantic or something special” before sex.

“Yeah, because of this,” the TLC star says as she makes a slapping motion. “It’s not pleasant. I don’t want to do that. I have to prepare myself mentally.”

“I don’t think I should go out of my way to do something nice for you to have sex,” he replies, shocking the therapist leading the group.

“When you have children, the spontaneous desire becomes more and more distant, the more responsibilities you have in the household. Another thing is that our bodies change when we have babies,” explains the therapist. “You are in a space where you can have a spontaneous desire, right? Your partner is not.”

She advises, “Instead of saying knock, knock, knock, this is what I want. It’s, ‘Hmm, let me rub your back.'” After the session, Yara tells her husband that his approach to sex isn’t working for her, saying to him, “You want to do what you want, when you want, and you don’t really care what I feel about all these things.”
