Mochi is a very curious and screen-obsessed cat, like most children of this generation.
But that obsession actually caused a very happy accident for her man, Jessica Schleider.
From the very beginning, Mochi liked to put himself between Jessica and her work. Jessica explains: “She was fascinated by my laptop from the very beginning.
Now that Jessica is an assistant professor of psychology at Stony Brook University, she must apply for funding to do the research needed for her thesis.
The grant was worth $100,000 and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect so she delayed the handover until she was sure it was ready.
It was clear that she was a little nervous about applying for the grant and wanted to clear her mind before doing a final review and sending.
So Jessica went for a walk with her dog, leaving her cat home alone. When she turned around and looked at her computer screen, she realized that something had happened.
She sees that Mochi has returned to the laptop. “I think she visited a lot of websites during this time of oversleeping.”
When she took a closer look, she saw that Mochi had somehow hit send!
“I see that she pressed ‘send’ [the] asked for assistance and I had a small panic attack.»
The app is gone and there is nothing she can do to withdraw it. The results came back a week later and thank goodness – Mocha’s obsession paid off. She really did the right thing and Jessica got her support.
