Tim Roth and Quentin Tarantino have been friends for a long time. It was a relationship that began in his place years ago when Tarantino only had the script for Reservoir Dogs. The pair sat down, read the entire script and then co-produced the film, in which Roth starred. Roth’s collaboration with the iconic filmmaker has become some of his most famous works.
But meeting Tarantino affected more than just his professional life. His personal life improved dramatically after meeting and working with the director, however, the case played as big a role as the director of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Roth and Tarantino were in good spirits when they attended the premiere of Reservoir Dogs at the Sundance Film Festival in 1992. Unbeknownst to either of them, Roth’s future wife would also be there. Fashion designer Nikki Butler was in Salt Lake City but did not attend the event. Instead she was there skiing with a few of her friends. They met, but there was no immediate connection. She didn’t know him and hadn’t seen any of his movies; he was in love from the start but felt she was unattainable. In an earlier interview with The Observer, he said that she was “out [his] leagues – too tall and lovely.” Roth almost missed the shot.
Things changed forever when a mutual acquaintance set them up on a date. “Within 20 minutes we were making out in a bar,” he recalled of their meeting. They married a year later in Belize when he was in the middle of filming. “We decided to sneak out and do it on a movie set,” Roth said of their wedding. First he had her initials tattooed on his arm, then had a drink with a friend (perhaps to gain confidence for what was to come), then returned to Butler and proposed. Maybe he gave her a good scare – she was afraid that he would end their relationship.

Roth already had one child before his relationship with Butler. He had his first child, son Jack Roth, with then-girlfriend Lori Baker in 1984, when Roth was 23 years old. He has two more children after marrying his wife: Timothy Hunter (named after Hunter S. Thompson) was born in 1995 and Michael Cormac was born on January 5, 1996. Years before he had children and married Butler, he moved to Los Angeles. After marriage, he started a family in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
All of his children work in the entertainment industry, although Timothy seems to be quieter. Jack is an actor who has appeared in more than 34 films, television series and music videos. Michael Cormac Roth is a musician who, in addition to working in the music department of New Order 2020, is an independent composer and producer with songs available on several streaming platforms such as Spotify, SoundCloud and Apple Music.
