A New 'Tilt' Coaster with a Track that Completely Separates Mid-Air Is Coming: See the Terrifying Video

Coaster fans are gearing up for an onslaught of exciting new rides in 2025.

The record-breaking roller coaster called Siren’s Curse will open in early summer 2025 at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio.

The new ride was announced on Thursday, September 19, and a press release claims it will be the “tallest, fastest and longest ’tilt’ roller coaster in North America.”

Its inspiration is “the legend and lore of mysterious creatures living beneath the surface of Lake Erie that are often talked about — but never seen,” the post explained.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair are merging to form a new company and tease new rides on the way

“The lake mermaids who lured sailors to their underwater deaths with their sweet, seductive songs will finally come ashore and attempt to ensnare guests in an ominous two-minute fate of never-ending roller coaster innovation,” reads the description.

The ride climbs up the 160-foot ship crane tower on Lake Erie, with increasingly “sinister” sounds.

Then visitors can expect his signature moment, stopping at the “broken” part of the track. While floating in the air, they will be tilted 90 degrees until they are looking straight down.

Riders then “escape the siren call and plunge into the abyss,” which involves zooming through 2,966 feet of track at speeds of up to 58 mph.

Ride highlights include 13 moments of weightlessness in the air, two 360-degree barrel rolls in zero gravity and “a high-speed ‘triple’ element with a twisted and banked track.”

“Record-breaking thrills have always been at the heart of Cedar Point’s roller coaster lineup, and Siren’s Curse lives up to that standard,” said Carrie Boldman, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point.

“That first precarious leaning position where you’re hanging — looking straight down — and waiting for the track to come together will be a moment fans will love,” Boldman added.

Cedar Point, located in the town of Sandusky on the shores of Lake Erie, will now have a total of 19 roller coasters.

Cedar Fair Master Limited Partnership

A company like Cedar Fair, which owns major theme parks across the United States and Canada, is actually a general limited partnership, not a corporation. This can have tax consequences when you call your broker to invest. A new world record Roller Coaster is coming — and it’s not in Florida or California

In July, Cedar Park completed its merger with Six Flags to form the theme park giant, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.

The company noted that there were no planned changes to park names or theme park season tickets, rewards or loyalty programs this year, according to Texas media outlet KSAT-TV.
