A study revealed that sleeping with a dog can actually help you sleep better

You no longer have to act strong when your dog is staring at you with wide, longing eyes over the edge of the bed.

Science shows that it’s perfectly normal to let your puppy snuggle up with you at night—it may even have certain health benefits.

Research from the Mayo Clinic has shown whether it’s true that keeping a dog in the bedroom is bad for people’s sleep quality.

Contrary to their expectations, their study found that keeping a puppy in the bedroom at night did not affect people’s sleep quality.

Researchers spent five months evaluating the sleep of 40 healthy adults and their dogs.

Participants and their children wore accelerometers for 7 nights to track their movements during the night, and human participants answered questions about sleep quality and whether their dogs slept. in bed with them or elsewhere in the bedroom.

One study showed that keeping a dog in the bedroom did not affect the quality of sleep in healthy adults.

A slight decrease in sleep quality is shown when the dog sleeps in bed, but don’t worry: even with puppies in bed, sleep quality is still considered satisfactory.

And, there are some perks that come with letting your furbabe sleep next to you.

A study from the Journal of Behavioral Medicine found a link between dog petting and lower blood pressure.

After studying sixty individuals, researchers note that touching a dog has been shown to lower a person’s blood pressure.

And if you’re a woman, a study published in the journal Anthrozoös suggests that you sleep better with your puppy than with your partner.

One study found that women were more likely to be woken up by their partner or some other type of pet than by their dog.

The study also noted that sleeping next to their puppy promoted a strong sense of security and comfort in the participants.

So the next time your puppy asks to sleep in bed with you, you can be confident in your decision to pat the bed for encouragement and watch your pup jump for joy.

There’s nothing sweeter than falling asleep next to a soft and warm little angel, and now you know that you can even rest, comfort and relax because of it.
