Abigail Breslin is at the center of a legal battle after she accused Aaron Eckhart of “aggressive, degrading and unprofessional behavior” on the set of their upcoming film Classified, according to a complaint filed by the film’s producers.
Dream Team Studios and WM Holdings claim that Breslin, 27, made “wild, hysterical and fabricated allegations against Eckhart,” 55, which they say forced the production to spend $80,000 on accommodations.
“In order for the production to proceed … Breslin refused to be alone in several scenes with Eckhart, and the production had to make costly adjustments to accommodate Breslin’s demands or else Breslin would not continue to fulfill his contractual obligations,” the lawsuit states.
In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Breslin’s representative, Michelle Bega, says the actress “is not aware of any lawsuit against her and has not been served with any legal notice,” and that Breslin “categorically denies all allegations against her and unequivocally stands by her the statement she made confidentially to SAG.”
A representative and attorneys for Eckhart did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment Monday.

According to the lawsuit, an investigation by a producer on the set identified as Mr. Georgiev “found no evidence to support” Breslin’s “spurious” claims.
“The entire production came to a near halt when Breslin advised the production of Eckhart’s aggressive, demeaning and unprofessional behavior, which she insisted put her in danger at various times,” the lawsuit states.
Classifiedthe spy thriller starring Tim Roth and directed by Roel Reiné, features Eckhart and Breslin as a career CIA assassin father and his long-lost daughter.
According to the IMDb synopsis, the film follows Eckhart’s character Evan Shaw, “who exclusively used the classified sections of various newspapers to receive his orders” and “suddenly learns from his estranged daughter that his department has actually been closed for years.”

Breslin has been candid about some of her more difficult personal experiences in the past, opening up about a previous abusive relationship in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
In response to a fan who thanked her for sharing her story, the Scream queens The alum said in October 2022, “Being open and honest is also part of my healing journey.”
“I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy,” she added. “People like you, who are supportive and kind, help a lot. Thank you!”
The Calm water the actress also encouraged another fan who spoke of hoping that “one day [they] can trust someone enough to try a new relationship again,” telling the fan, “You’ll make it! I promise!”
“I know it’s hard to imagine. Trust takes time,” Breslin continued. “I’ve found that being open and honest with my partner about my triggers/fears/worries is really helpful. And therapy!”
