Accused: fans saying same thing about shocking Netflix film

The Accused is currently the number one most popular movie on Netflix – and fans have a lot to say about the shocking new film directed by Boiling Point and Chernobyl director, Philip Barantini.

Taking to Twitter to discuss the show, viewers admitted they found it seriously tense, with one writing: “Watching #Accused on @NetflixUK and feeling sick to my stomach. @Chaneil_Kular you are amazing and what a great job you did BUT I NEED HARRY’S MOM AND DAD TO COME HOME NOW! This is so stressful!” Another person added: “The amount of anxiety I had watching #accused on Netflix. Chile, I had to close my eyes at times. Great performances overall.”

Have you seen The Accused yet?

Speaking about the role, Chaneil told Digital Spy: “What Accused does is beautifully highlight things that as a society we like to think we know. The main thing I want people to take away is that sometimes these mobs are targeted at people who deserve it, but it’s important to be aware of honest belief if someone is accused of something on social media. Make up your own mind and judgment about things instead of being swayed by what’s in your feed.”

He added to Dazed: “A lot of the fear and adrenaline shown in the film is very real because […] I knew I couldn’t afford to fail. I was wondering, are people buying this? Am I wearing this?’ The real-life pressures I faced while taking on this role ended up fitting the real-life character, which worked great. I might have to do a rom-com or something later though.”
