Adam Sandler’s girlfriends are following in his footsteps.
The actor’s daughters Sadie, 17, and Sunny, 15, voice the characters in his new animated film Leo. And at the Los Angeles premiere of the Netflix movie on Sunday, Adam told PEOPLE the advice he’s shared with them about their careers so far.
‘I tell them to make sure you feel good about what you’re doing and how hard you’ve worked, and you judge yourself,’ says the 57-year-old. “Don’t let too many people try to get into your head. If you feel like you did your best, that’s all you can ask for.”
“[It’s] it’s always fun to be with my family,” he continues to collaborate on a project starring his 20-year-younger wife, Jackie Sandler. “It’s something they think about and their passion, so it’s good to learn with them.”
The family posed for a series of photos together as they walked the gray carpet at the Regency Village Theatre.

As for whether there will be any other collaborations with the Sandler family in the future, Adam adds to PEOPLE, “You never know, but we had a lot of fun doing that bat mitzvah movie. And we started making this one four years ago, and they grew up a little while making this movie, so it was really nice.”

The Murder mystery 2 the star also shared that he’s not sure if his kids will follow him into comedy because they “like serious stuff.”
“But they are fun in this movie,” he tells PEOPLE. “They are light, silly children.”
According to Netflix, the musical comedy, which comes out on Tuesday, tells the story of the last year of elementary school through the eyes of the school’s class lizard named Leo.
While Adam plays Leo, Sunny and Sadie voice characters named Summer and Jayda, and Jackie voices Jayda’s mom.

Earlier this year, the foursome also starred in a Netflix comedy-drama You are not invited to my Bat Mitzvahwith Sadie and Sunny playing father’s daughters Ronnie and Stacy on screen.
The sisters have worked with their famous father — and mother — for more than a decade and have had roles in numerous films, including the 2010 comedy Adults until 2020. spooky comedies Hubie Halloween.
