Aditi Govitrikar was born on Tuesday, May 21, 1974, in Panvel, Mumbai (age 49; as of 2023). She completed her schooling from Barnes High School, Panvel, Mumbai. She had a keen interest in learning and chose to pursue Bachelor of Medicine in Internal Medicine from Grant Medical College, Mumbai. Aditi holds multiple degrees, she holds an MA in Psychology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, an MA in Positive Psychology from Harvard University, a postgraduate degree in Counseling from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University Master of Arts (ALM) extension school. Apart from academics, she also developed an interest in modeling and later pursued acting and modeling as her career. She came to attention in this field mainly after winning the Gladras Supermodel Contest in 1996 and the Asia’s Next Top Model Contest for Best Body and Face in 1997. She is considered to be the only supermodel in India who is a doctor and has won the Best Body and Face Award. Psychologist qualifications too. She was named a “Beauty with Brains” by Business Today magazine.

She has a sister, a model, television and film actress, and a brother, Alpan Govitrikar. In 2019, her father passed away due to chronic illness. He was put on a ventilator and was admitted to Panvel Hospital in Maharashtra, where he later died.

Aditi met Muffazal Lakdawala in college, where he was also pursuing MBBS at Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He is Muslim and they dated for seven years. Later, they got married in 1998. After changing her name to Sara Lakdawala, she continued to work in the entertainment industry under the name Aditi. The couple later had two children, a daughter, Kiara, and a son, Ziaan. In 2009, the two divorced due to their unfruitful relationship. However, they did not reveal much about the reasons for their divorce. According to Aditi, this was a difficult and unpleasant time for her. Later, Mufazal decided to get married again and had his second marriage with Priyanka Kaul in March 2011 in Goa. He has three children with Priyanka Kaul.

  • Despite being an actress and model, Aditi never gave up on her medical career and she continued her studies in various colleges and universities in India and abroad. With her academic qualifications, Aditi hopes to contribute to society and so far she has done many events and talk shows to educate people about mental health. She later started her own channel on YouTube called “Lighthouse Counseling Center” where young people and couples can discuss their personal issues and help them cope with future struggles and problems. She has since started appearing on InstarmLive’s chat show “Dr A Talks on Instagram Live”, where various celebrity guests join her and discuss their issues every day at 6pm. Additionally, she has conducted workshops focusing on physical and mental health in various villages and towns across India.   • In September 2020, Aditi tested positive for COVID-19 after organizing a party at her home in Bandra on August 27, 2020. Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora were also said to be present at the family function. Later, they were all found to be infected with the virus. Aditi’s apartment was also sealed by the BMC. She is experiencing mild body aches and is self-isolating at home.
  • In an interview, Aditi revealed that she once turned down an opportunity to enter the film industry. She mentioned that when she was competing in the Gladras Next Top Model contest, Yash Chopra, who was one of the judges at the time, called her to ask her to meet.
