Adnan Syed was born on May 21, 1981 in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. He is now 40 years old. Adnan was sentenced to life imprisonment of 30+ years. Syed was a 17-year-old student when he killed Hee Min. He attended Woodlawn High School and was a good football player during his school days.
The television network HBO launched a true crime documentary series about the true event of Hee Min Lee’s murder. The title of this series is “The Case Against Adnan Syed”, it was released on March 10, 2019.

Adnan was convicted in 2000 of murdering He Min Lee in 1999. Min Lee was his ex-girlfriend at the time and is now serving a life sentence. Adnan was 17 years old when he committed the crime. Adnan maintains that he is innocent of the conviction. There were 2 other suspects, whose identity is not known during the investigation, who are also connected to He Min Lee’s death.
According to reports, on January 13, 1999, He Min Lee went missing, his family members filed a missing person report at the police station, and the police began an investigation. The police came to Adnan during the investigation. Shortly thereafter, police found Lee’s partially buried body in Baltimore’s Leakin Park. On February 28, 1999, Adnan was arrested by the police for aggravated murder.
