Biography of Adrian Dantley
Adrian Delano Dantley was born in Washington, DC on February 28, 1955. He is the son of Virginia Dantley. He has always been interested in basketball since childhood. He attended DeMatha Catholic High School and played for Morgan Wootten. During his high school career, he had a 36-game winning streak and an overall record of 57-2. As a result, he earned All-American honors.
He later received a basketball scholarship and went on to attend the University of Notre Dame. In 1974-75, he was a first team All-American. Then he scored 2,223 points and played an important role in college basketball’s biggest game. He was later chosen to represent the United States at the Olympics, where he won a gold medal.

Career
Adrian Dantley was selected by the Buffalo Braves in the 1976 NBA draft. He established himself as a small forward averaging 20.3 points per game. He was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 1977. During the 1977-78 season. he appeared in 23 games for the Indiana Pacers. He averaged 26.6 points per game. In December of the same year, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
He appeared in 56 games for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1977-78 season. He averaged 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds. The following year he was hampered by injuries and appeared in 60 games. Despite all the appearances and averaging 17.3 points, he was later traded to the Utah Jazz.
With the Utah Jazz, he gained a reputation as a top scorer. Between 1981 and 1984, he scored 30 points. However, he did not have a good relationship with the head coach and was traded to the Detroit Pistons as a result.
Even with the Detroit Pistons, he was an effective scorer. He joined the Pistons in the 1985-86 season and later signed with the Dallas Mavericks. In 1990, he was released and became a free agent.
