A woman describes her companion’s less-than-ideal travel etiquette during a recent experience boarding a flight.
Author and veteran CI Jerez shared a post on Instagram Threads on Friday, Nov. 15, detailing how the mom with a large family was unhappy when her kids couldn’t jump to the front of the plane line.
“So they called my group # and I got on the plane when mom (ignoring her family) flew in and I got in line behind her,” Jerez explained. “Then her family of about 6 is behind me. As we’re about to scan into the aisle, she says, ‘Excuse me, that’s my family behind you. ‘ ”

Jerez – who noted she was traveling alone – said she offered to “jump in front” of the woman so she could join her family, but the idea didn’t go down well.
“She literally rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth and said, ‘Seriously?’ Jerez said.
She added: “I think she wanted me to stand behind the six of her team. 🤷♀️🙄.”

“This describes the airline’s behavior perfectly,” wrote another, adding: “She wanted to cut the line but tried to make YOU feel like a jerk. You handled it perfectly! 👏,”
“Forgive me for being the voice of reason, but seeing as you were traveling alone it makes perfect sense that we let you in first as it will take them a while to settle in,” someone else said.
