I did not do well in Class 12 and was kicked out of the house by my father. I went to live with my mother. It gave me time to do some part-time work and study; it was also around this time that I started cycling. Soon, I started going on weekend bike rides with friends. “

Initially, her family was not supportive of her decision to become a motorcycle racer. Recalling her family’s initial reaction to her career choice, she said:

Coming from a conservative family with no racing background, it wasn’t the easiest career choice. My grandfather wanted me to have a regular job, and so did my father, who said I wouldn’t achieve anything. It was my mother who allowed me to discover myself and follow my passion. “
