Akash Deep was born on Sunday, December 15, 1996 (27 years old; as of 2023) in Delhi, Sasaram, Bihar, India. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He studied at the local school in the village. He has been interested in cricket since he was a child and often played cricket with other boys at his neighbor’s house. However, he never dreamed of becoming a cricketer as well as a pace bowler.
After watching India defeat Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup final in South Africa, he decided to become a professional cricketer and later played for India.

In 2010, he went to the Cricket Academy in Durgapur, West Bengal for training; however, due to some family issues, he returned home. In 2012, he went to Kolkata to treat his father’s illness, during which time he played several games in Kolkata.
At that time he was a batsman; however, he decided to become a bowler and by 2015, he became a pace bowler. In 2016, he moved to Delhi to live with his sister before traveling to Kolkata at the invitation of a friend. He was subsequently selected to play for Manchester United FC and Mohun Bagan Athletic Club.
He spent a few years in a 12 x 12 room with four guys before making his debut for Bangladesh in the domestic tournament. He trained under Saurashish Lahiri when he played for Bangladesh Under-23 team. He made his debut for Bengal in 2019 across all formats of the game and has made a name for himself ever since. He represents teams from other parts of India in the domestic BCCI tournament.

Akash Deep has been named in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad for the second leg of the 2021 IPL season in the UAE. Later, he was acquired by RCB for Rs 20 lakh in the auction for the 2022 IPL season.
He made his IPL debut on 27 March 2022 against Kings XI Punjab (PBKS) and took 1 wicket and scored 38 runs. He later said that he idolized Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood and learned a lot from them.

- During his time with Kolkata’s age-group side, Akash Deep benefited greatly from the Vision2020 programme, which was launched in 2014 by former India captain Sourav Ganguly to In developing youth pace bowlers. Akash formed a lethal bowling partnership with Mukesh Kumar, who was also selected for the same programme.
- Akash Deep initially joined Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2021 as a net bowler; however, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, he had to quit the season midway as his aunt and sister-in-law fell ill due to COVID-19 -19 passed away. His mother also tested positive; however, he cared for her and nursed her back to health.
