Al Roker couldn’t be more thankful for his long marriage!
The Today host celebrated 29 years of marriage to his wife, ABC News senior national affairs correspondent Deborah Roberts, with a touching Instagram post on Monday, September 16.
The post featured a photo of the happy couple getting married above a more recent photo of the two recreating the same facial expressions and poses.
“When you see what I looked like 29 years ago, it’s even more amazing that @debrobertsabc married me,” he joked in the caption. “For a woman of questionable taste and even more questionable eyesight.”
Roberts, 63, responded in the comments section: “Stop it! I would do it all again! ❤️”

The rocker, 70, also posted a special tribute on Instagram on Monday, September 17, admitting that 29 years have flown by “pretty quickly.”
“I’m not sure @debrobertsabc would agree. #happybirthday to a great wife, friend, mom, journalist and amazing #lifepartner who made sure I got through my crisis a year and a half ago,” he added, talking about how he was hospitalized for blood of a clot that moved from his leg to his lungs in the fall of 2022.
“Though I’m sure I give her pause to think about it every now and then,” he added jokingly. “Thanks for not shutting down. I love you.”
As for Roberts, she posted their wedding photo on Instagram on Monday, September 16 with a sweet message.
“How it started… how it is now,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m still chasing love and life with you @alroker and I’m so excited for every adventure.”
“You bring #joy Here’s to another 29 years. #happyanniversary,” she added.

The couple first met in Today 1990 and married on September 16, 1995 in front of family and friends in the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas in Manhattan. The two welcomed their first child, a daughter, Leila Ruth, on November 17, 1998, and on July 18, 2002, they welcomed a son, Nicholas Albert.
In February 2021, the couple shared more about their marriage in an interview for PEOPLE’s first Love Issue.
“He does things like sprinkle little love notes, little cards throughout my life,” Roberts explained of her husband’s romantic gestures, adding, “Sometimes there’s a little card by the coffee machine that might say something encouraging or sweet or mischievous or fun .”

In March 2022, Roberts told PEOPLE that the COVID-19 pandemic had brought the two closer together.
“We are not used to this extended time spent 24/7 together [we] I felt listless,” she said. “At first there was tension as we adjusted to this new reality.”
“It was a reminder of my romantic journey with my husband and how we have created a stronger and more precious bond over the past 24 months,” Roberts continued. “I was blown away by how Al stepped in to take care of me and his family and I fell in love with him even more. … And seeing other couples feel that was validation.”

Roberts has also been incredibly supportive through Roker’s health issues over the years, from his prostate cancer surgery in November 2020 to his health scare in the fall of 2022 and his knee replacement surgery in May 2023.
“I wouldn’t be here without her,” he told PEOPLE in 2023.
