Alan Davies is a stand-up comedian, actor and writer from England. Since 1997, he has played the lead role in the BBC’s mystery drama series Jonathan Creek. Furthermore, from 2003 he was the only regular panelist on the BBC’s QI panel programme, outlasting his colleagues Stephen Fry (2003-16) and Sandi Toksvig (2016-present), who took over after Fry’s departure.

In 1988, he won his first gig as a stand-up comic. A very brilliant comic quickly became famous. He was a successful stand-up comedian who caught the attention of global heavyweights for his work in the BBC’s ‘BAFTA’ award-winning production ‘Jonathan Creek’, a mystery and crime series that premiered in 1997. Similarly, his stand-up show ‘ Urban trauma’ in the ‘Duchess Theatre’ was a fantastic success. Furthermore, it was adapted for television and even broadcast on BBC One in 1998.
Davies appeared in the radio comedy ‘About a Dog’ and commercials for the building society ‘Abbey National’ from the late 1990s until 2002.
