Alan Jackson's Daughter Mattie Welcomes First Baby, a Son — and His Name Has a Sweet Nod to the Country Artist

Alan Jackson’s daughter Mattie has become a mom!

The 34-year-old and her husband Connor Smith welcomed their first child together, son Wesley Alan Smith, on Thursday, June 20, announcing the happy news on her Instagram this week.

Along with several photos of baby Wesley’s first days, including some sweet snaps with the new parents and their dog, Mattie reflected on becoming a mom in the caption.

“A week ago my life changed forever 👶🏻🥹💙,” she began. “Wesley Alan Smith joined our little family on June 20th, the absolute best birthday present I could have ever imagined. There is no greater honor in life than being chosen by God to be your mom. And there is no sweeter joy than watching your dad adore you and but protect you.”

Alan Jackson’s daughter Mattie is pregnant, expecting her first child with husband Connor: ‘Absolutely delighted’

“Even Ryman has reluctantly warmed to his new little brother 🦮💕👼🏻,” she wrote of the couple’s dog. “You have all my heart and prayers, boy. If you’re anything like your namesakes (Connor’s grandfather and @officialalanjackson), you’ve got quite a life ahead of you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.”

In February, Mattie announced on Instagram that she was expecting her first child. The country singer’s daughter posed together, with Smith hugging Mattie as she held a tape of ultrasound photos and smiled.

“I feel like I said so many times last year that 2023 topped the charts with more joy, celebration and temptation than any so far. Well, I have a feeling 2024 could be a bang for your buck… 🙏 🏻🥳🙌🏻,” she wrote in the caption. “We are absolutely thrilled to share BABY BOY SMITH coming this June!!! 💙 🥹 👶🏻 🤰🏻 💙.”

The couple tied the knot in June at The Breakers Palm Beach, Florida, eight months after announcing their engagement.

“Wooooo we did it!! Grateful is a gigantic understatement. More beautiful pictures later – I’m going to the islands with my HUSBAND! 💕 🥳 🏝️ 🥂 🙌🏻” she wrote in an Instagram post that featured a carousel of photos from the big day.

The photo from the wedding was also shared by dad Alan (65), who then wrote on Instagram that he and his wife Denise were delighted to welcome their new son-in-law into their fold.

“Denise & I are so happy to officially welcome Connor to our family! We wish @MattieJackson & Connor Smith a lifetime of happiness… Living of love!” he captioned the post, referencing his 1994 chart-topping song “Livin’ on Love.”
