Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson remembers her late sister Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
On Monday, the 18-year-old reality star shared a heartbreaking video on TikTok that featured photos of Cardwell and their family as a rendition of Benson Boone’s “In The Stars” played in the background.
Before the photos appeared, a black screen shared a line from the song’s lyrics: “I don’t wanna say goodbye cause this means forever.” Thompson added in the description: “Now how am I even going to celebrate our birthday 🥺🥺🥺💔.”

“It is with a broken heart that we announce that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away peacefully at my home last night at 11:12 p.m.,” Shannon, 44, wrote alongside a family photo. The family matriarch noted that Cardwell “passed away with her family around her” and thanked fans for their “constant prayers and thoughts.”
In addition to Cardwell and Thompson, Shannon is the mother of Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 27, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efrid, 23. Cardwell was also a mom to two daughters – Kaitlyn Elizabeth (11) and Kylee Madison (8). Her death comes months after she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Shannon asked her followers to keep her family in their thoughts and added the hashtag #cancersucks. Efrid shared the heartfelt plea on her Instagram Story, adding: “Pray for our family.”

After Cardwell’s death, Thompson spoke about the emotions she felt watching Cardwell’s cancer journey.
“Watching my 29 year old sister fight this horrible disease this year has not been easy. Anna was a fighter and still is. God, please hug her 2 babies and our family because the next few days are going to make everything real 🥹 “, she wrote on Instagram. Thompson also vowed to cherish Cardwell’s memory.
“We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever. And I promise I will always make sure we celebrate our birthday like you never left! Heaven looks a little different today. We will always love you Anna 💔. You hit me so hard his one and only Anna but I know you are in a better place now and pain free forever,” she added in the caption.

PEOPLE confirmed that Cardwell married Eldridge Toney after learning of her cancer diagnosis in January. A wedding certificate obtained by PEOPLE showed the two were married on March 4 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. The couple began dating in 2017 following Cardwell’s divorce from ex-husband Michael Cardwell, with whom she had a daughter, Kylee.
