Alex Cooper, the popular host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, real name Alexandra, was embroiled in a scandal after she was caught tampering with her Instagram photos in August 2021. The incident came to light when Cooper shared a modified version of a photo of her on August 21, 2021. birthday vacation in Las Vegas. But of course, no one would have seen the edits if Lauren hadn’t sent an identical, unedited photo to the photo dump. Needless to say, observant viewers were quick to spot the discrepancies and compare the two images. Many others chided the influencer on social media for encouraging unrealistic body image expectations. They even accused her of discouraging people from submitting their pictures.
Luckily, several of her fans sympathized with her and pointed out how all women feel pressured to alter their photos before posting them on social media. Cooper remained silent about her decision to photoshop her images, despite much criticism, and finally broke her silence a few months later.

On September 22, 2021, Cooper discussed the photographs that exposed her for Photoshopping in her podcast episode titled ‘I Got Caught Photoshopping’. The skilled host recalled how she was satisfied with the whole night she spent with her family and friends on her birthday. As she said, she felt wonderful and relaxed as a human. However, she became dissatisfied with her figure as soon as she saw herself in the photographs.
So before posting the photo on Instagram, she used FaceTune, an editing program, to give herself an hourglass look. Unfortunately, the podcaster woke up the next day to creepy hateful comments. She immediately deleted the photos and avoided watching videos with critical material and harsh comments. Cooper said she hasn’t used TikTok since the event. However, the 27-year-old later stated that it was an intervention for her, saying that she would never again manipulate photos for her social media accounts. People may think, ‘Oh my God, you’re only admitting this because you got caught.’ Yes, but also no, but also yes. It’s almost like an intervention in a sense.
Cooper soon revealed that she had been manipulating her pictures since high school, shortly after describing how things started. She said she made her legs look bigger because she was bullied for having small ones. Cooper has long been open about photo manipulation, as she herself admitted. Namely, she embellished her statements about cosmetic surgery, and attributed her flawless appearance to Photoshop.

Rumors about Cooper’s plastic surgery have long hung over him. Luckily, the Pennsylvania native cleared the air on her podcast on December 29, 2018. The couple answered some of the most frequently asked questions when they hosted the show with her then-co-host Sofia Franklyn. One of the questions is that they underwent cosmetic surgery of the body and lips. Cooper denied that he had cosmetic surgery and emphasized that the cover image of their podcast was edited. She also admitted that she did the Kylie Jenner lip challenge before the photo, claiming that they don’t look like that in real life.
