Alex Wolff Shares His ‘Best Memories’ of Late Angus Cloud: ‘One of the Most Gifted People’ (Exclusive)

Alex Wolff remembers his late friend Angus Cloud.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the 2024 BAFTA Tea Party, the 26-year-old actor said he shares fond memories of the shoot with the late Euphoria star, who died last July at the age of 25.

“The best memories were him coming into my room,” Wolff said of Cloud, with whom he starred in the 2023 thriller. Line. “I had a great time with him in the hotel room, my hotel room, where everyone would come. And we would all get together, talk and laugh a lot.”

The Hereditary the actor, who has already shared behind-the-scenes looks at some of the cast’s reunions on Instagram, also shared a specific moment he remembers from working with Cloud on the film.

“There was a big snowstorm and we had to do this last scene in a minute. We had to do it so quickly,” Wolff told PEOPLE. “And it’s a big pivotal scene in the movie, and we had to rush it. We had to do one take, and it was amazing.”

“We were so excited that everything went so well that he went outside in the snow and wrote his name, ‘Angus’, with his foot in the snow, and it was really, really special,” he added.

The actor also said Cloud was “one of the most gifted people who ever lived,” noting, “I think about him every day.”

“I just think he was brilliantly smart [and] emotionally intuitive in a way that was almost creepy. He could feel everything that was going on,” he said Oppenheimer the star said of Cloud.

“He was so sweet and so full of love. And no one should [ascribe] any personality of his that they gathered through interviews or something,” he continued. “I knew him, I was close to him, and I just loved him. And he was just wonderful and warm to everybody.”

Wolff added: “He was just the most amazing person ever.”

Cloud, who was best known for his role as Fez in Euphoria, died at the family home in Oakland, California on July 31, 2023, his family confirmed to PEOPLE at the time. It was later revealed that the cause of his death was acute poisoning after an accidental overdose.

Angus Cloud’s friends share tribute in emotional interviews — with help from Tony Hawk (Exclusive)

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we had to say goodbye to an amazing man today. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” the star’s family said in a statement after his death, noting that Cloud’s father was buried last week and that the actor “struggled intensely with this loss”.

The family statement continued: “The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus has been open about his struggles with mental health and we hope his death can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and that they should not struggle alone in silence.”

“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for all. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss,” the statement concluded.
