Alix Earle ends 2023 with hot tea.
This year, fans have been completely consumed by Earle’s relationship with NFL star Braxton Berrios and the difficult — and very public — drama with his ex-girlfriend Sophia Culpo that followed.
Now, the 23-year-old influencer is sharing her side of the story on her podcast, A Hot Mess with Alix Earle.
For those who don’t know, Earle doesn’t name Berrios, 28, or Culp, 27, at all in the episode. Instead, she refers to them as an “NFL man” and his “ex.”
In the new episode, which aired Thursday, Earle breaks down the timeline of her romance with Berrios, starting with their fling at a Super Bowl party in February. Nothing happened between the two, says Earle (who was previously linked to “baseball boyfriend” Tyler Wade), but Berrios unfollowed her on Instagram.
Berrios told Earle — and also said in a public statement about ending their relationship — that he and Culpo split in January. Culpo confirmed their split in March, but disagreed with Berrios’ claim about how the relationship fell apart.
According to Earle, Berrios flew to Los Angeles that weekend to seek a deal with Culp, who learned of his and Earle’s meeting.

Earle later talks about her helicopter date with Berrios in March and their trip to the Hamptons in June, when she teased their romance on TikTok. “Things are going great with the NFL man right now,” she says of her status with the Miami Dolphins star at the time.
However, things took a turn when Culpo accused the athlete of cheating on her with Earle and seemingly shaded Earle in a now-deleted TikTok.
“The ex-NFL man went public and basically started talking things out with … on the Internet, basically buying into that story that I was the home wrecker in their relationship,” Earle remembers, denying the allegations.

She adds that she was “upset” about internet gossip and the “girl vs. girl” nature of it all.
“I just wasn’t in a good place,” Earle says, adding that the “homewrecker” tag circulating on the Internet was “the most triggering thing” (In 2008, Earle’s father, Thomas Earle, was caught having an affair with Ashley Dupré, who is now her stepmother).
Earle later says Culpo messaged her via Instagram to apologize for the publicity. “I said, ‘I appreciate you reaching out. It was hard for me to be guilty of something I didn’t do. I hope we can all just move on.’ ”

In September, Culpo appeared on Kristen Gaffney and her sister Aurora Culpo Barely filtered podcast, again discussing her relationship with Berrios, alluding to his suspicion of cheating.
“It was getting kind of messy,” Earle says on the Culp Accusations podcast episode, recalling his anger over the situation.
Now, Berrios and Earle, who confirmed their relationship in November, are going strong. Later in the episode, Earle says they’re in a “healthy relationship.”
“I really appreciate the NFL man, and he’s the best and he has so much respect for me, and I’m trying to be the best I can be.”
He says that their relationship is built on good communication. “I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument about anything,” she says.
