Aljaz Skorjanec has spoken about his decision to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing.
The dancer, who left Serious in 2022, revealed the surprising on their joint podcast, Twist and scream. In the first episode, Aljaz said, “I’ve reached a point where my creativity doesn’t flow as easily as it did in 2013 when I first started.”

He added, “It took me longer to generate the numbers, it took me longer to come up with songs that weren’t used, that I didn’t use.”
Reminiscing about a memorable event, the Slovenian dancer, 33, added: “There was also a time when I had a great idea; I’m in the car… I sent a song [the] the producer said ‘Oh my God this is going to be a great Argentine tango can you please tell me who made it, when was it made…’

“They called me literally for two minutes and said, ‘Are you serious?’ You did that three years ago… When those moments started happening, I was like, you know what, it’s about time, and I never felt like I left anything on the dance floor… “

I think baby decided to spook my parents a little earlier by saying, ‘OK, fine, I’m here’.”

No wonder Aljaz was deeply moved when Janette confirmed her pregnancy. He said: “I was with myself. I felt like I had thought and dreamed of that moment for so long. We had mentally and physically prepared for IVF and then it was a relief when it ended. same positive result.”
He concluded by adding: “I have great respect for any parent going through IVF, not just for what they have to go through physically but mentally as well.”

Before welcoming their first child, Aljaz and Janette traded their London flat for a larger home in tree-lined Cheshire. In addition to getting closer to friends Gorka Marquez and Gemma Atkinson, the couple’s move also ticks some important boxes.

“This is something we both have been waiting for a long time,” Alijaz told us. “The pace of life in London is so fast and we can’t see ourselves operating as a family here. The green north is so green it reminds me of Slovenia.”
