Eve, View the only child of the co-host, who she shares with her ex-husband Joseph Behar, was born in New York on November 26, 1970.

Although Eve lives a mostly private life, over the years she has shared photos and messages about her mom, the host of the daytime talk show. In a Mother’s Day post shared on Instagram in 2020, Eve posted a hand-drawn portrait of her son Luca kissing Joy on the cheek.

“Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the rest of us,” she wrote. “Moms for dogs, moms for goats. etc. all who help in the upbringing of the young. Nannies, friends, aunts.”

Eve, who was 12 when her mum first tried her hand at stand-up, has been open about her experience watching Joy succeed as a comedian over the years.

“She did pretty well, pretty quickly,” Eve said Joy Behar: Left Front Center, a 2010 CBS News Sunday Morning special about her mother’s career. “I think when she made the decision, she said, ‘That’s it, I’m going to do it.’ ”

In 1962, Joy married a university sociology professor and writer named Joseph Behar, and Eve was welcomed on November 26, 1970, in New York.

During her childhood in the big city, Eve was able to connect with nature and animals, according to her website.

“In Eva’s early years, she was fortunate to live next to Forest Park and loved to explore what seemed like a deep forest even though Queens Boulevard was right there,” her bio explains.

Joy and Joseph divorced in 1981 after 16 years of marriage, and Joy soon began her comedy career.

Before starting her new career, Joy was a high school English teacher who worked with kids “who were in conflict with the police,” according to one from 2022. TIME profile.

“It was hard,” Joy said Parade 2010 on balancing her new career and motherhood. “I felt conflicted. But I was broke after my divorce, and at 39 I got fired from my day job. Looking back, I don’t think I would have done it if I had known what I had to go through. But I didn’t know what else to do to make money.”

She continued, “Also, my mother was still alive, so Eve always had her as a babysitter. Eve’s father was there [too].”

Joy waited 29 years to marry Steve Janowitz, a high school math teacher. The couple started dating in 1982, but did not officially marry until August 11, 2011.

Joy and Eve consistently lived near each other, and Joy said in a 2009 interview that they lived in the same apartment building in New York and regularly went for facials and pedicures and went shopping together.

In 2015, Joy and Janowitz bought a house in Sag Harbor, the same village on Long Island where Eve and her family live.

Before becoming a ceramist, she worked as a TV producer

Eve dabbled in the entertainment industry before becoming a full-time ceramic artist. In 2000, she was an associate producer for 10 episodes of the TV series Strangers with Candywhich starred Stephen Colbert, Paul Dinello and Amy Sedaris.

Her current role as a ceramist in Sag Harbor, New York was a passion that started early in her childhood. “With tremendous family support, trying all different art forms from drawing to dancing to acting, when Eve came across clay, it was a done deal,” says her biography.

She took pottery classes around town during and after graduating from CUNY Hunter College, even while working as a television producer. In 1995, she moved to Florence, Italy, to study at Studio Art Center International, where she earned a postgraduate degree in ceramics, painting and art history.

In 2001, she became a full-time student at the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Oakville, Canada, where she spent three years dedicated to her craft. At the end of her tenure there, she was awarded Best in Show at the school’s 2004 graduation show.

By 2016, Eve was named Gallery Director at Celadon Clay Art Gallery in Bridgehampton, and taught and served as president of the Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons.

Joy said that her daughter comes from a long line of creative people. “Eva’s paternal grandmother was an artist, and my paternal uncle was an artist, so it’s in the genes,” she said in an interview in 2019.

After living in Canada for three years, Eve returned to New York and married physician assistant Alphonse Anthony Scotti at the Chelsea Piers Lighthouse in New York in 2007. The New York Times.

Two years after Eva’s wedding, Joy expressed her feelings about becoming a grandmother one day.

“I guess it will be a lot easier when I become a grandparent because I won’t be working full-time,” she said. “I mean, people always say ‘if I knew this was going to be this good, I would have had grandchildren first.’ ”

She became a mother in 2011

“Luca is 8 months old. He’s beyond brilliant,” Joy told Anderson Cooper on his talk show Anderson live 2011. “He Says All Things: Mom, Dad, E=MC².”

“It’s like you’re in love again,” she continued. “You know when you’re in love with a guy for the first time and you’re running towards each other in slow motion. You just can’t get enough of each other. That’s right, it’s just your child.”

In November 2020, Eve posted a series of photos on Instagram of her son working for her.

“My 9 year old wanted to help me with photography – turns out he’s a real pro AND used some photo editing software to spruce up a few pictures,” she captioned the post. “I have to pay him in Robux though.”

Eve is also mom to her dog Jack. In May 2024, she shared a series of photos on Instagram that ended with a “bonus reel of Jack loving live!”
