Allison Holker Recalls the First Time She Laughed with Daughter Weslie After Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Death

After the death of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Allison Holker Boss found strength in their children.

The professional dancer, 35, appeared in the last episode of the series Viall Files podcast and opened up about how she relied on her son Maddox Laurel, 7, daughter Zaia, 3, and oldest child Weslie Renae, 15, after tWitch’s death in December 2022 at the age of 40.

“There are so many moments that I learned from my kids, or we learned together at the forefront regardless of their age,” Holker Boss told host Nick Viall.

The mum-of-three said the biggest lesson she learned was to be vulnerable in front of her children, and she described a standout moment when she did so with Weslie after Boss’s death.

“We had a moment, months after it all happened, we were in our kitchen, and we were, for whatever reason, I don’t even remember what memory came up. I don’t even remember. But what I remember that it was our first laugh, and it was months before we had it,” she said.

The choreographer said she remembers the two “laughing wildly, wildly” before wondering if it was okay.

“Right after we started laughing, we both looked at each other and stopped like almost on a dime because then there was almost instant regret and like, sadness that we feel bad about laughing. Like, is this okay? And then we just hugged him, and then we cried, and we said, ‘Yeah, no, we can laugh.’ We can do it,” said Holker Boss, noting that it was a moment she would never forget.

“To go through that honest emotion, like, you know, emotion with someone else at the same time was something I’ll never forget with her,” she said. “And then we almost had to walk each other through it and reassure each other that it was okay.”

Holker Boss said that made her even more grateful for Weslie.

“I’m really grateful to have her and to support her through all of this, and she supports me through it,” she continued. “But she is lovely and so I fully believe that we can learn more lessons from our own children and that they can sometimes learn from us.”
