Alok Nath or “Bollywood Babuji” or “Sanskaari actor” was born on July 10, 1956 in Kagaria, Bihar, India. He is in his 60s and last celebrated his 62nd birthday. He is a popular Bollywood actor known for his father roles. He has been working in the industry for nearly four decades. His religious and down-to-earth roles have earned him the image of the most Sanskari actor.
Education and Careers
He received his secondary education at the Modern School, Balakamba Road, Delhi, and then attended the Hindu College, Delhi. He also holds a postgraduate degree in drama from the National School of Drama.
Alok Nath’s father and grandfather were both doctors, so he too was expected to become one. But he had his own passion to follow. Since childhood, he has been actively participating in sketch shows in schools and colleges.
He first entered the television world in 1980 with the show “Rishtey-Naate”. Two years later, in 1982, he made his big screen debut with the film “Gandhi”.
Until 1986, he only played minor and insignificant roles in films. Lacking work and money, he starred in Buniyad (1986), in which he played an old man despite being in his 20s at the time.
His performance in the film was widely appreciated, which resulted in more films offering father roles rather than age-appropriate ones.He was like a father figure to actors younger than him, who were his own age and almost twice his age. Alok wanted to break the stereotype of his father, so he co-starred with Tina Munim (Ambani) in the film Kamagni (1987). However, the film did not perform well at the box office and failed miserably. In his nearly 4-decade career, he has appeared in more than 500 films.

He comes from a family of doctors. Both his father and grandfather were doctors. But the names of his parents are not known. He grew up with two sisters, one of whom followed Alok’s footsteps into Bollywood and became a popular actress, Vinita Malika.
He met Neena Gupta on the set of a TV show in the 1980s and the two began dating. Although the relationship soon fell apart and they broke up.
Alok married Ashu Singh in 1987 and they have two children. Son Shivang Nath and daughter Junhai Nath.

- In 2018, during the #MeToo movement, Navneet Nishan claimed that Alok Nath harassed her in the 1990s. She also accused him of calling her a drug addict in an interview with Film magazine.
