Profession

Alpana started her career as an announcer with the All India Radio Network and worked there for nearly 18 years. While studying in college, she made her debut as a theater artist with the play Taak Dhina Dhin. She subsequently acted in various Gujarati and Hindi dramas such as Saalmubarak, Jaanta Ajaanta, Ek Selfie Sajode, Thodu Logic Thodu Magic and Rupiya Ni Rani Dollario Raja. After appearing in several dramas, she got married and then took a break from acting. In an interview, talking about starting her acting career, she said:

In 1990, girls were never encouraged to act. Although my father was an artistic director, my mother never wanted me to be an actor. Acting is always considered a second choice. In fact, people are reluctant to let their daughters enter dramas, let alone serials and movies. I’ve always been like this. I went on to study a lot and got my M.Com and Diploma in Financial Management. At that time I just wanted to find a good job and get married. But coincidentally, when I was in college, I filmed some interschool dramas and got the attention of the director. I went on to do a few commercial dramas, after which I got married (to actor Mehul Buch) and took a long break from acting. “
