Slezak shared his condolences after her last summer One life to live actress Andrea Evans, who played the teenage Tina Lord in the series, died of cancer in July 2023 at the age of 66. The characters Slezak and Evans were half-sisters in the soap opera.
“Andrea and I have worked together for so long,” Slezak wrote on her website at the time. “On my first day on the job, she lived a block away from me and I walked her to work. She was just a kid – she’d never been to New York – so sweet and kind and loving. It was amazing that she played such a complicated, confused and selfish character so good.”
Shifting her focus to Evans’ husband Stephen Rodriguez, whom she married in 1998, and their then-19-year-old daughter Kylie, the actress continued her heartfelt post.
Slezak also sent her “love and deepest sympathy” to Evans’ husband, Stephen Rodriguez, and Evans’ daughter, Kylie, who “were her whole life.”
“When she and Steve got married and then had Kylie, it seemed like her life was finally over,” Slezak wrote. “She was so happy. So very very sad.”
