WHEN I last caught up with Amanda Holden before her 250-mile charity bike ride, she was slathering herself with butter to stave off sore cheeks.
But when I spoke to her yesterday while she was taking a break from pedaling through nature, she felt a pain she had never imagined.

“My thumbs hurt, it’s really weird,” she told me.
“Right now I’m sitting here naked, with only a towel around me because the weather is terrible.
“Monday was the worst for the hills, but now is that time.
“My wet gear is drying on a radiator in this beautiful hotel called The Chapel.

“I had a fried egg and two brownies for breakfast and just had some butternut squash soup before I got back.”
Despite her setbacks, Amanda is incredibly cheerful – although I’d expect nothing less from television’s sunniest star.
She got a big surprise on air yesterday when she was told about a £100,000 donation to Global’s Make Some Noise, the charity she’s doing the challenge for.
Amanda said: “We received a £100,000 donation from the makers of The Wild Robot.
“It’s just amazing.
“We had so many people supporting us along the way.

“Lots of cars and trucks honking – and people running out of their gardens shouting and cheering.
“It was really uplifting and wonderful and obviously it’s all for a great cause.

Kylie is courting Paris
It was lights, camera, action for Kylie Minogue as she headed to Paris to promote her new album.
The Padam Padam singer, who wore this stunning red dress, was met by cheering fans in the French capital as she went on TV to talk about Tension II, which comes out next week.

On top of that album release, Kylie, who playfully zipped up her dress to reveal a microphone package strapped to her thigh, has a world tour coming up next year, but seems to prefer keeping busy.
She said: “The tour is the best part of the job. I have a year ahead in my mind. Suspense II isn’t done yet and I’ve already spent a few days in the studio because I’m like, ‘Oh, what’s next?'”
She’s on a winning streak so I don’t blame her for the wheel turning, but I’d be devastated if I were her.

BEWARE ladies, Joey Essex is back on the market – and he’s been busy pampering Raya.
A friend of mine spotted him using a celebrity dating app to chat with women after his split with Love Island girlfriend Jessy Potts.

Joey has Bryson Tiller’s Whatever She Wants as his profile music and told fans he’s heading to Los Angeles at the end of this month.
Despite appearing a bit incompetent, Joey is incredibly bright and when I last saw him in the office, he confirmed to us that he had split from Jessy last month, saying: “Unfortunately, we’ve decided to call it quits. but I hope we can continue to be friends.”
I’m sure there will be plenty of fish in the sea that will be happy to nibble on Joey’s tackle. . .

BILLIE EILISH has vowed never to talk about her love life again.
The singer, who came out last year, told Vogue: “I would like no one to know anything about my sexuality or anything about my love life. Ever, ever, ever.
“And I hope it never will again. And I will never talk about my sexuality again.”
Fans don’t Gaga for Joker
LADY GAGE and Joaquin Phoenix’s new film Joker: Folie A Deux has had a poor start at the box office – taking just £5.7m in its opening weekend in the UK.
Gaga was a huge success for the sequel, but heavy reviews meant they struggled to get bums in the seats.

That’s a contrast to the 2019 original, which opened with £12.6m.
Folie A Deux still topped the box office, but it didn’t have much competition as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which came out a few weeks ago, was still in second place.
Usually the comics are far more popular, so I can’t imagine that Warner Bros. will rush to make a third installment.
Maybe she would have done a little better if Gaga had been in the Joker movie for longer than 33 minutes.
Bay-llion game
JAMES BAY has become the latest success story to receive a BRIT Billion Award, which celebrates reaching one billion streams in the UK.
He posed with his new trophy for this photo, but that’s not the only reason to smile this week.

POP’S unstoppable force Taylor Swift leads the pack of MTV EMA nominations for the second year in a row.
The Anti-Hero singer picked up seven awards, including best artist, best video and best pop, ahead of the ceremony at Manchester’s Co-op Arena next month.

They are followed by Arya Starr, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Lisa, Chappell Roan and Tyla with four nominations each.
Manchester’s Liam Gallagher will battle Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Green Day, Kings Of Leon, Lenny Kravitz and The Killers for the top rock gong.

XCX’s confusion with Lorde
WE’VE all had to face the enemy at some point, but luckily for Charli XCX, her conversation with pop rival Lorde ended much more smoothly than she expected.
When Charli released Girl, So Confusing in June – a song about being confused by another artist who was blowing hot and cold with her – she wanted to call Lorde and admit the lyrics were about her.

But Lorde was in New Zealand where, thanks to the time difference, she had already heard the song when Charli called.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Charli said: “I was prepared for her to never speak to me again. That could have been the outcome.
“I thought, ‘I have to tell you about this song.’ And she said: ‘Yes, I heard that. I can guess which one it is’.
“I was like, ‘Fuck,’ but she was so cool.”
The pair then teamed up for a remix of the track which included Lorde’s response to Charlie.
And it was clearly on Lorde’s mind, because she managed to complete her verse in two days.
Charli added: “It was so quick. I mean, she said that on Friday, and she sent me the thing, the verse, by Monday.”

The brothers are now close to selling out two shows on the Australian leg of their pre-sale ticket-only reunion tour, having filled all the UK and North American dates.

No more for Pacino
AL PACINO split with his young girlfriend after their son was born last year.
The Godfather actor started dating Noor Alfallah, who is 54 years younger than him at the age of 30, in 2022.

But when asked if he was currently in a relationship, he said: “No, I have a friendship.”
Al previously denied rumors of a split with Noor.
But confirming they are no longer in a relationship, his rep added: “Al and Noor are very good friends. . . and are co-parents of son Roman.”
It comes after his revelation this week that he died in 2020 while battling Covid – only to be revived by paramedics minutes later.
He said: “It was shocking to open my eyes and see it. Everyone was around me saying: ‘He’s back. He’s here.’”
