Amanda Seyfried and her family are huge Halloween fans!
In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE about her partnership with Synchrony’s CareCredit and Pets Best Insurance, the 38-year-old actress also talks about her love of all things scary and how she celebrates the spooky season with her family.
“Halloween is big in our house. We go all out,” says Seyfried, referring to herself, husband Thomas Sadoski, and their children — daughter Nina, 7, and son Thomas, 4.
“Every year we have this party, and these local guys who do Christmas lights put Halloween colors all over the woods,” she continues. “We have candy, some inflatables, and this year we’re doing fog machines.”
“Then we trick or treat in the nearest town on the actual Halloween,” he adds Jennifer’s body star.

According to Seyfried, her love of Halloween has been passed down to her two children. “Actually, my daughter just made a haunted house in our playroom the other day,” she tells PEOPLE.
As for where her kids want to go during their annual fall break, the mother of two says of her daughter, “She wants to be that weird clown.”
“She wears a red wig and wants pitch black ones [eyes]”the Mamma Mia! and Mean girls the actress continues with the planned clothes for mini me.

As for her son, Seyfried says he’s more relaxed about his Halloween plans and actually asked to wear the costume again from last year.
“My son is a firefighter again,” Thomas says with a laugh.
