Amanza Smith’s Stylist Apologizes for Homophobic Comments About Chrishell Stause and Her Partner G Flip (Exclusive)

Amanza Smith’s stylist Sammie Moussallem told PEOPLE exclusively that she apologizes for her homophobic comments about Chrishell Stause and her partner G Flip.

During the latest season Sale Sunset, Stause, 43, called out Moussallem and actress Nicole Young for homophobic comments. Stause explained in one of her confessionals that Moussallem called her a “fake lesbian”. She claimed he went on a “very public rant” and also that Stause is “nothing but a green card for G.”

“I apologize for that,” Moussallem tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Six months ago, being the professional that I am, I tried to contact her many times, either through my publicist or through my manager who represents me to contact her to talk to her, but she didn’t answer.”

“I said it out of spite and what I said before, I didn’t really mean it,” he admits. “I overreacted… I should never have said what I said on social media.”

“We grew up… and it affected my work, the silence about the situation that happened before, and my life and everything like that,” he adds. “And I would like to leave this and be an adult.”

“We are both members of the LGBTQ community. I am a member, and she is a member,” he states. The stylist also explains why he “was very reactive when [Stause] used” the word homophobic, saying that “the term was used a little loosely.” But as for next steps, Moussallem says he’d “like to talk to her,” adding, “Chrishell, we’re adults, we’re moving on.”

Smith, 47, also tells PEOPLE exclusively about her reaction to the situation: “It was horrible,” she says. “There is no negative talk in my house.”

She notes that she spoke with Moussallem and “dealt with it and looked back at what he did to me.” He explains that “it’s very clear, like if he ever does or says something – it doesn’t even have to be that bad.”

“It’s nice to hear an apology,” she says, admitting that “it’s not going to change anything with Chrishella.”

Although Moussallem has since apologized for the remarks, at the time of the shooting, Stause asked Smith to invite Moussallem to her 47th birthday party — and Smith complied. Smith tells PEOPLE that she “felt a little bad when [she] she didn’t invite him,” but she notes “just a little bit, because you’re making the bed, [now lie in it]you know?”
