Amardeep Singh Aujla was born on Saturday, December 3, 1966, in Ambala, Haryana, India (56 years; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. After completing his formal education, Ojra applied to join the Indian Army Officers’ Commission and was selected for a one-and-a-half-year military training course at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, in 1985. Amardeep Singh Aujla was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the 13th Battalion, Rajputana Rifles on 19 December 1987. Later, he was posted to Belgaum, Karnataka, where he attended the Young Officer (YO) course. As a Major, Ojra served as company commander in Kashmir from 1994 to 2004. He served as Brigade Major during Operation Parakram. Later, he reported to the Army War College, Mohau, Madhya Pradesh, where he underwent the Advanced Command Course. After being promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, Ojla served as the second in command (2IC) of the 13th Battalion, Rajputana Rifles. After being promoted to the rank of Colonel, he served as the Commanding Officer of the 15th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles. Thereafter, he was posted to Belgaum where he served as commando instructor at the Infantry School. Later, Ojira was sent to Bhutan as an instructor with the Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT) to train the Bhutanese army. After returning to India, Ojla was appointed as Chief of General Staff (CGS) to a regiment of the Indian Army. After being promoted to Brigadier General, Ojla was posted to New Delhi where he was posted in the Directorate General of Prospective Planning (DG PP). Thereafter, he was posted to Kashmir as Brigadier General (BGS) (Operations), Chinese Army. He was later posted to New Delhi as Brigadier General (C), Infantry Directorate. From December 30, 2013 to June 15, 2015, Ojra served as the Brigade Commander of 268 Infantry Brigade, Jammu. As a Major General, his first assignment was at the Integrated Headquarters of MoD (IHQ of MoD) (Army), New Delhi. Later, in the Northern Command, Udhampur, Ojra served as Major General Staff Officer (Operations). Later, he was appointed as the General Officer Commanding-in-C (GOC-in-C) of the Vajr Division, also known as the 28th Infantry Division, located on the Line of Control (LOC).
