Amber Mclaughlin’s death sentence
Amber was convicted of first degree murder. The judge sentenced her to death after the jury decided on the sentence. The court ordered a new sentencing hearing in 2016, but a federal appeals panel reinstated the death sentence in 2021.
Amber’s death sentence is a crime because it was handed down by a St. Louis County judge. Louis after the jury and board members could not conclude that she deserved the maximum sentence. She will be killed by the state of Missouri on January 3, 2023.
